Situated on 5 forested private acres, the location consists of a 4 bedroom main house and a 3 bedroom guest house with a secured gated access to the property. Fully enjoy the private waterfront access and boat house. Jump of the dock, launch your boat or just sit on the deck and enjoy the secluded views of Sakinaw Lake.

The grand residence features nearly 3000 sq ft of comfortable lakefront living. The home was designed by a reknown architect and is totally self sufficient. The four bedrooms will sleep 8 comfortably. The two master bedroom suites have King beds and ensuite baths. One bedroom contains a queen size bed and the fourth bedroom has twin beds. The beds are comfortably set with designer linens and all 4 bathrooms come complete with all the necessary amenities.

The Great Room is spacious and features a wood burning fireplace. The Gourmet Kitchen is equipped with deluxe appliances and all amenities and opens to the Great Room. There is an extensive deck and a recreation room is downstairs.

The Guest House is 1500 sq ft and has a large deck for enjoying the view. The master suite, located on the main floor of the Guest house, has a luxurious king bed and ensuite. Upstairs in the second bedroom you'll find a king bed, with two twin beds in the third bedroom. The kitchen is an open plan with all the appliances and amenities to create your favourite culinary delights. There is also a gas grill.

As there is no television or phone service in this secluded location, Sakinaw Lake Retreat is the perfect getaway from life's hectic pace. You can either fly in by float plane right to your boat dock from Vancouver in twenty five minutes or enjoy the scenic ride on a B.C. Ferry to Sechelt and drive up to this one of a kind vacation home.

Cradled on a peninsula overlooking Johnstone Strait on an acre of lush land, Alert Bay Lodge is located on the south shore of Cormorant Island in the town of Alert Bay. Cormorant Island can be found in a glacier-carved waterway with Vancouver Island to the south and the rugged mainland coast to the north. Accessible only by boat or ferry, Alert Bay is the oldest community on north Vancouver Island. The local waters, called Johnstone Strait, are home to the largest population of orca whales in Western North America.

Located two kilometers from the village of Alert Bay, the lodge offers a peaceful setting where one can relax by the fire, take in the view of Johnstone Strait from the south facing decks, or stroll along the beach. The heritage of the lodge as the United Church for the Island is reflected in the arched cedar ceilings and the open floor plan of our spacious common room. Eagles nest in the large cedar and fir trees behind the lodge and can often be heard calling to each other in the morning.

As oldest community on northern Vancouver Island, Alert Bay BC was once a key trading post for First Nations people and merchant mariners. The island was named after a coastal cruiser, the H.M.S. Cormorant in 1846. The community derived its name from the H.M.S. Alert, which was stationed on the northwest coast in 1858.Today, Alert Bay has a population of about 1,500 comprised of the Village of Alert Bay, the 'Namgis First Nation and Whe-la-la-u and area Council.

The island is accessible by a 35 minute ferry ride which departs six times as day from Port McNeill. While Alert Bays economy is still influenced by commercial fishing, it has gained a reputation as an off the beaten path tourism destination emphasizing First Nations culture, its natural environment and eco-tours including fishing, kayaking, whale watching and grizzly bear viewing. Educational institutions throughout the world regularly station researchers here to study First Nations culture, orcas and the marine habitat.

French Beach House is located on the west coast of Vancouver Island about 2 hours North West of Victoria on the Highway 14. The property is located across the main road from the ocean and is just minutes from the gorgeous sandy and rocky beach at French Beach Provincial Park.

Past French Beach house, farther down Highway 14, you will find China Beach, Sombrio Beach, Mystic Beach and finally Botanical Beach, just pass the town of Port Renfrew. French Beach House is also conveniently located at the trailhead of the Juan De Fuca Marine Trail, making it a perfect home base to explore the spectacular forest and beaches of Southwestern Vancouver Island.

The home is situated at the top of a sloping grassy grade at the back of the 3 acre property. Proceed to the rear of the house to park and you will find the main entrance at the other end of a wonderful little bridge. As you enter the house, the views from the floor to ceiling windows immediately catch your attention. Spectacular vistas of the ocean and Olympic Mountains are available from every room.

The main living area is in front of you, with the kitchen to your right. To the left is a dining room with a stand up bar area and a set of double doors to the deck which spans the entire length of the house, offering more unobstructed mountain and ocean views. At the far right of the house are the bedrooms. The Master bedroom has a wall of windows facing the view and you can access the deck from here or just leave the doors open to have the fresh breeze from the ocean blow across the bed. There is a very funky loft area in the Master which is suitable as a day bed area or for a young teen to sleep. Downstairs features another bedroom with 2 double beds and a third bedroom with a single bunk bed. There is also a games area complete with mini pool table and ping pong. There is also access from here out to the hot tub and yard.

French Beach House is a true delight for anyone who would like to experience the rugged west coast of Vancouver Island without having to rough it. Stay in comfort while exploring the wilderness. A perfect match.

Santa Rosa Ranch offers a rare opportunity to unplug from life's hectic pace and to get away from it all. The ranch is situated 20 minutes from the town of Barriere, in a remote yet accessible location that is completely private. It harkens back to simpler times, to the days before modern technology made living more convenient, yet more complicated. The 160 acre ranch, forested with a mixture of Spruce, Cedar, Fir and beautiful white bark Aspens trees, was originally homesteaded in 1903. The original trappers log cabin as well as the original log hay barn are reminders of the pioneer ranchers that settled the North Okanagan.

The 1400 square foot home at Santa Rosa is simple yet warm and inviting. Its peaceful setting features an indoor bathroom, a wood burning fireplace, a spacious kitchen, dining and living room, with three cozy bedrooms. The kitchen is roomy with a table for 10 with views to the meadow and the Barriere River valley below to the west. The kitchen is supplied with a propane stove. A sliding glass door provides access to the 60x10 ft covered cedar deck to lounge away the day. Although there is plumbing in the home, there is no running water or electricity. The beauty of the surroundings, as well as the peace and tranquility you'll experience during your stay will more than make up for the lack of modern conveniences.

There is a wilderness trail that circles the entire perimeter of the ranch, where you can wander for quiet, tranquil walks anytime day or night. Relax on the fully covered cedar deck with a morning cup of coffee and gaze upon a golden five acre meadow below the home where Moose, Deer and Silver Fox frolic and feed in the morning hours. Make an outdoor campfire and roast marshmallows in the fire-pit. You can even chop your own firewood if you like. Gaze at the multitude of stars in the crystal clear sky, relax and enjoy the serenity on the deck of the rustic cabin, or simply explore the natural setting of the ranch and the surrounding area. East Barriere Lake is a short drive away for swimming, fishing and boating.
