The Beachwood is a luxury, beachfront home on Comox Bay just south of Courtenay in Royston. This Cape Cod style shingled home is situated on one acre of terraced grass lawn with views of Comox Harbour, the coastal mountains, and kayaks and sailboats. Abundant bird life such as trumpeter swans, herons, eagles, ducks and geese abound on the beach area. Find moonshells on long walks onto the sandbars when the tide is out. There is a fire pit on the sandy shore which is a great gathering spot for friends and family. You can also easily launch your canoe or kayak into the water from this low banked oceanfront lot. There is a large lawn area for bocce, badminton and horseshoes. Sip your morning coffee from shore side chairs nestled on the lawn or from one of the three decks providing ample space for a quiet perspective of the bay. .

The home's soft colours and furnishings create a wonderful space to unwind and relax. The gourmet kitchen with its gas stove, wet bar and new appliances provides inspiration for meals while providing breathtaking views looking out over the bay. Adjacent to the kitchen area are lovely French doors which open to the BBQ area, making the deck and kitchen easily accessible. The master bedroom features a spa inspired ensuite with a large jetted tub that provides restful soaks and picture perfect views of the ocean. French doors open to a private deck. Upstairs are two attic bedrooms with views of ocean and gardens, with the waterside bedroom having access to small sitting deck. A large dining room with river rock gas fireplace is a great space for the family to gather at the end of the day. The family room provides space for breakfast, watching movies on a big screen, listening to music, curling up by the fireplace and open to a sun filled deck through large glass doors overlooking the ocean.

The Comox Valley provides many activities such as golf, fishing, skiing, boating and hiking. Rentals of canoes, kayaks, bicycles and boats are close by. There are many great restaurants, a museum and live theatre. Downtown Courtenay abounds with beautiful boutique shopping and unique coffee bars. Events such as Music Fest and the popular Filberg Festival are summer favourites. Comox International Airport provides easy travel plans with regular flights from Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton.

The Robinson Lake Retreat, is a custom built wood dominated, fun, funky and laid back luxurious little mansion in the woods. The main living room, dining room, kitchen/second dining room, and all four bedrooms, all look out at the lakefront and nearby Mount Washington. The viewpoints are bright and beautiful from almost everywhere in the house. Only the fully equipped home theater living room faces away from the lake, sun and mountains and it is nestled into the comfortable shade of the towering firs and alders. Watching hundreds of satellite channels or some DVDs on a large 55 HD TV with surround sound can take you away from all of the nature should you desire it! High speed wireless internet is available throughout the house and property. The lakeside stereo living room comes complete with an audiophile sound system and a large selection of records and CDs. There is a pool table in the shade of the trees! The large master bedroom features an incredible French king size bed, and a couch and fireplace that opens onto a large balcony that looks out upon the lake. There is a large ensuite bathroom featuring a jetted jacuzzi tub as well as a separate shower. There are three other bedrooms with two queen size beds and a double bed. If necessary the living room couches can accommodate 3 more people. The other two guest bathrooms feature a shower on the lower floor, and a shower/tub combo upstairs.

Outdoors you can swim around Robinson Lake and be amazed at the bird life and natural beauty. The beach area features a fire pit for campfires anytime of the day. A canoe, paddle boat, and an assortment of floating chairs and mattresses are provided. A full BBQ and outdoor dining table is there for your use and enjoyment.

The nearby Comox Valley has been named The Recreational Capitol of Canada for good reason. The abundance of fantastic beaches, lakes, mountains, forests, and numerous golf courses make it a community with an unlimited potential for nature excursions. The sandy beaches of Saratoga and Miracle Beach are just 5 minutes away! Nearby Mount Washington generally gets more snow than most ski hills in North America and is well regarded as one of Canada's best alpine resorts. The towns of Courtenay, Comox, and Cumberland, all 20 minutes south, all possess plenty of character boutique shopping, and a truly impressive choice of dining. A few minutes further south from Courtenay is the Buckley Bay ferry terminal that takes you to the Denman and Hornby Islands. Hornby Island arguably features the most pristine sandy beaches on the entire west coast and is most definitely worth a day trip or longer! Campbell River, just 20 minutes north, is world famous for its fishing, and is the gateway to Strathcona Park and a fabulous scenic and fun drive to Gold River and beyond. You can also take a ferry to Quadra and Cortez Islands from Campbell River for even more west coast options. Enjoy a barbeque or evening fire in privacy no neighbours are visible from the decks on the ocean side of the house.

The Comox Valley truly has it all, from skiing at Mt. Washington 45 minutes away, to live performances at the Sid Williams Theatre, to kayaking right from the beach in front of the house. By the Sea is located between two lovely parks Kitty Coleman Park at the north end of the block and Seal Bay Park a 5 minute drive south. Here you can wander one of the many walking trails, bike along the bike paths, or ride horseback on the horse trails. Comox and Courtenay towns - only 15 minutes away - have a friendly, quaint charm and offer boutique shopping as well as the big box stores like Superstore and Wal-Mart. Campbell River is located 40 minutes north and Qualicum Beach is 45 minutes south.
